Practice by yourself and how many are in a kindred?
I'm kind of both currently having moved away from my Kindred last year.

Re: So how many of you
Wed, December 28, 2005 - 2:44 PMYes. Have always been more of a solo practioner (well, solo at the family level). Yet, do participate in larger groups when appropriate.

Re: So how many of you
Thu, December 29, 2005 - 4:03 AMI have always practiced alone. I have only ever met face to face two other Asatruar, and still never had the oppurtunity to worship with them. Being in the military makes a kindred somewhat difficult.

Re: So how many of you
Sat, November 18, 2006 - 3:41 PMIt's always tough to find kindred, or kindred souls, when you are in the military. Relocation, reassignments and such are a burden when it comes to establishing good relations at all. I hate to wait until I got out to start. Have you had a chance to look at the military pagan network? While not always Asatru, that's a good place to get networked with others that may know (and help)

Re: So how many of you
Mon, November 20, 2006 - 10:02 AMI appreciate the link and I'll definetly look into it. I've been lucky at this current station. I've been able to find good fellowship which is a first for me. At the invitation of thier community I attended my first thing this yaer and pubmoots which although are more of get togethers has acted as a catylyst for my own learning. Military commitments still act as a challege but with out challenge there is no gain. Thank you again for th info.

Re: So how many of you
Mon, June 26, 2006 - 9:12 AMFor the last several years, our practice has been centered in our home - myself, my husband, and our children.
Recently, the urge to form another Kindred has grown strong and with one other dear kinsman, we are back in the "formational" stages again.

Re: So how many of you
Sun, July 30, 2006 - 8:34 AMI've been searching solo for some time. Some of the most interesting connections I've made have come through participation in "parallel paths" in the Native American community. I have to let spirit guide me to that which is forgotten.

Re: So how many of you
Thu, September 7, 2006 - 8:32 PMI was in a kindred with my ex and his wife....
since then I've been solo.
Was first exposed to Asatru/Heathenry when we took a seidr class
with Dianna Paxon in 96 I think...
I've come in contact and participated in several blots and sumbles
with different groups.
I've gone to the Meadhall gathering 3 times...and met some amazing people.
I got to know people from all over there.
For awhile we had the Texas Asatru League but now we just have the Texas Asatru
yahoogroup. People who are asatru in texas stay in touch through the group
and are starting to do things like have pub nights and periodic sumbles...
they post if they are having an open sumble or open classes....
